IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

ICE - Contact Number "IN CASE OF EMERGENCY"

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends.

If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) Campaign

The concept of "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name "ICE"     (In Case Of Emergency).

The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as "ICE."

For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. Isn't it a great idea that will make a difference!

Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our mobile phones today!!! !

Please inform this to all. It won't take too many "forwards" before everybody will know about this It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest .

ICE will speak for you when you are not able to

TrafficChaos... Farmer's strike

Yesterday only I have put up the blog on Traffic conditions. At the time of writing the earlier blog nowhere in any corner of my mind I had dreamt that the very next day there will be such heavy Traffic Chaos in Bhopal.

Today's news reads"....: A large number of farmers 'gheraoed' Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's residence in Bhopal in support of their various demands including 12-hour power supply to rural areas, paralysing traffic on key roads.......over 4,000 tractors have already parked on various roads leading to Chief Minister's residence causing inconvenience to large number of people living in adjoining areas...."

How many of us have witnessed the Traffic Chaos created by these protestants? Ask those who were stranded for a long time in this mess. The traffic could not be regulated and district administrative authorities were helpless.

What will happen? Will we ever wake up from our sleep and adopt systems to show our protest without resorting to such type of activities to stall the proceedings of the day.

These news which appear almost on every or alternate day attract the attention of every common man.

.. are the results of increased traffic on roads leading to heavy traffic Jams.

Increased no. of high speed Motorcycles; being driven by young population; at times with more no. of people riding the Motorcycle. Uncontrolled & increased traffic on the roads is the result of Flouting of the traffic rules by the public in general, not following any traffic rule, not sharing responsibility, not having authorised and authentic driving license.

The present administration is also not serious to control or regulate traffic on regular basis, except for when any political functions take place, or controlling the movements at the time of VIP arrivals.

Hurdles or impediments created by the incomplete Infrastructure developments is again adding to the chaos and traffic jams

But have we ever thought what could be the possible solutions to the increasing traffic Jams. It is right time to address the increasing pressure of traffic on roads.

Dainik Bhaskar has published the following suggestions by some of the citizens:

Apart from above suggestions by DB I also suggest that the Traffic personnel should implement traffic rules strictly.

Punitive action against the defaulters is a must. Broadening of the road work by BRTS should be expedited.

Actions for removing of the rotary at the crossings should be a welcome suggestion and politicisation of the same be stopped forthwith.

Constructions of Flyovers by implementing agencies will also help in tiding over the Traffic rules.

Since charity begins at home my appeal to one and all is to follow traffic rules sincerely.

We all should take a pledge for implementing Traffic rules sincerely
